2019-2020 Palo Alto County Junior Naturalist Program
Pheasants Forever Youth Hunt: Saturday, October 19, 8 am-12 pm at Sportsmans Park, Cylinder
The Palo Alto County Conservation Board is offering the Junior Naturalist Program during the school year for students in 4th, 5th, and 6th grades.
Junior Naturalists will meet one Saturday each month from October through May. Participants in the Junior Naturalist Program must register by calling the Nature Center at 712-837-4866. There is a limit of 20 students for the program. The registration fee is $10 to cover the cost of a special Junior Naturalist patch and the bird house materials. Checks should be made out to the Palo Alto Conservation Foundation and can be dropped off at the Nature Center or mailed to: Lost Island Nature Center, PO Box 417, Ruthven, IA 51358

October 19, 8 am-12 pm: Pheasants Forever Youth Hunt at Sportsmans Park, Cylinder
November 16, 10 am-12 pm: Geocaching at Lost Island-Huston Park, Ruthven
December 21, 10 am-12 pm: Cross Country Skiing at Lost Island-Huston Park, Ruthven
January 18, 10 am-12 pm: Snowshoeing at Basswood Recreation Area, Emmetsburg
February 15, 10 am-12 pm: Ice Fishing at Lost Island-Huston Park, Ruthven
March 21, 10 am-12 pm: Bird House Building at Lost Island-Huston Park, Ruthven
April 25, 9 am-12 pm: Iowa Young Birders at Lost Island-Huston Park, Ruthven
May 9, 1 pm-4 pm: Wings & Wetlands at Lost Island-Huston Park, Ruthven
